Energy saving by insulation means saving money. This is – because of short household expenses – the main reason for the public sector to act sustainable. But sustainable material, which saves money and protects the environment, is not used predominantly. The sustainability of materials is neglected. Therefore, climate-damaging raw-materials are used until now. The environmental burden is not only visible after usage, but the material needs to be disposed as well. The municipal Haar recognized this wrong state of art and supports arrangements for insulation by the use of insulation material made of sustainable raw-materials.

There are for example insulation materials, which are made of hemp, wood fiber or chipped wood, celluose, straw and seaweed. Some materials for the insulation of interior walls can be seen in our "sustainable Office".
