Limited fossil resources can be conserved and CO2 emissions can be reduced through the usage of bio-based resources. The FNR presents with the model "the bio-based office" an example of the bandwidth of innovative and renewable office products because the question of the use of raw materials and the subsequent consumption concerns more and more people and climate changes affect all of us.

Innovative, trend-setting and environmentally friendly products are already in the trend in private consumption. The working environment is increasingly required to find a holistic approach in which environmental, social and economic concerns are considered.

With around 17 million office workplaces in Germany and the many "home offices" of students and pupils office environments provide a vivid potential - for an exemplary procurement in the public sector. Public administrations are purchasing after all in for more than 400 billion euros annually. This means a market power with enormous creative power.
